The GRE score is typically valid only for 5 years from the date that you have appeared. For example, if you have appeared in a GRE test in 2010 then your score will be valid only until 2015. The ETS has clearly stated on their website with all the instructions that GRE test score will be valid only for 5 years. It will be applicable in all around the world.
The ETS says that the score is valid only for five years, so it is clear that you have to send your document and the test score within the 5 year of the period. You can send your report to any school as per your choice. If you fail to send your report within the 5 year of span period, then your score will be no longer in the ETC database. Then you will not applicable to appear in any of the schools.
The schools will officially report your test score and if it is within the time then they will accept the offer. The score should be good for appearing in any school. You will provide all the test preparation material on time. It is a computerized test in English and mathematics for knowing your knowledge and the report will be staying in the database of the GRE exam only for 5 years.
In every school, the standard policy for applying should not more than five years older. The school will also check your score online and once all the verification done; they will confirm the admission procedures. The ETS is very important in GRE exam and always read the instruction properly.
